The 3190 can handle 350 watts (programme) into 4 ohms with an SPL of 122dB from two 8 inch woofers alongside two 25mm tweeters. Traditionally the loudspeaker placement in rooms has been dominated by the needs of stereo reproduction and consequently most positions are a compromise enforced by the directionality of conventional loudspeakers. However, Wharfedale's innovative solution is to use the 'Baker Effect', a phenomenon first noted in the 1930's.

By mounting two hf drive units perpendicular to each other, and carefully contouring the crossover network, Wharfedale has been able to reproduce a dramatic stereo effect in almost any listening position.
