Description
The MX82 is a brand new 8 channel stereo mixer from Australian Monitor. It offers high quality audio performance and a wide array of features in a standard 1RU size.
There are four mic/line inputs and four stereo inputs. Each of the four mic/line channels consists of a balanced XLR input switchable between mic & line level, 15dB of gain trim across the mic/line inputs plus individually switchable phantom power (15VDC).
The first 4 channels also feature a line level direct output which can be used to feed additional amplifiers, mixers or recording devices. An internal dip switch allows the first 4 inputs to be routed to the direct output, the master outputs or both. You can also feed the optional tone generator to the direct outs if required. Input 1 can also be pre or post master if you require, allowing it to be used as a priority (or emergency) input. Inputs 5-8 are four dedicated stereo RCA aux/line level inputs.
Each of the MX82’s 8 inputs features a front panel trim control, status LED plus bass and treble controls.
The Bass and Treble controls are located behind a front security panel which also doubles as a label plate for each channel of the mixer.
Options for the MX82 include priority muting boards, remote VCA master control, and a tone generator board.
The MX82 also features 4 segment LED output metering. Both a Headphone output and Record output are provided for maximum flexibility.
In terms of features, the MX82 looks similar to its predecessor (the TX8202). The main changes however are “under the hood” with the MX82 featuring greatly improved audio fidelity and noise specs... such as a frequency response of 20Hz-20kHz (as opposed to the 50Hz–15kHz of the TX8202). Additionally, the signal to noise ratio is 18dB better than the TX8202.
